AION Auto UK, a joint venture between international automotive distributor Jameel Motors and major Chinese automaker GAC Group, has opened its first wave of retail and service sites in the United Kingdom, marking an important step in the brand’s market entry.
The first locations are strategically positioned in or near major towns and cities, including AION Slough, the flagship Jameel Motors site.
The network also includes retail and service sites in Beverley, Leeds, Newcastle, Newton Abbot, Shrewsbury, Swansea and Winchester, with further locations planned in Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Cardiff.
The launch of the first retail sites reflects AION Auto UK’s and Jameel Motors’ ambition to build a sustainable long-term presence in the UK. The brand is on track to expand its retail footprint to 15 sites by the end of June 2026, with a target of doubling that to 30 sites by the end of the year.

Each site will operate as a full retail showroom, with service and parts facilities to support customers throughout their ownership journey. Sales teams and aftersales technicians across the first wave of locations have completed brand- and product-specific training programmes to deliver high levels of customer service from launch.

AION Auto UK debuts in the market with the AION V, an all-electric family SUV. The model is available for test drives across the first retail locations, with first customer deliveries now imminent.
A key part of AION Auto UK’s customer proposition is the AION Great 8 Promise, an ownership package included as standard with all AION cars. It includes an eight-year warranty, eight years of servicing, eight years of breakdown assistance and MOT cover until the car is eight years old.

AION Auto UK has also introduced what it describes as the UK’s most comprehensive new car warranty. The vehicle warranty covers most systems and components for up to eight years or 100,000 miles, while the power battery warranty provides cover for eight years or 125,000 miles, subject to a State of Health threshold of 70%. The powertrain warranty also covers the vehicle for eight years or 100,000 miles.

“There is lots of noise around Chinese cars at the moment, and it can be confusing for buyers to know who to trust. We are driving a new standard as we launch the AION V to customers, and a key part of that is complete transparency around the AION Great 8 Promise, including our warranty,” said Jon Wakefield, General Manager, AION Auto UK Jameel Motors UK
To support customers nationwide, AION Auto UK has partnered with the AA to provide routine service, maintenance and repair coverage through accredited workshops and mobile technicians. It has also partnered with DHL to establish a fully stocked parts warehouse in Bury St Edmunds, supporting 24-hour parts supply across the UK.
The brand has also worked with Thatcham Research to optimise the AION V in terms of repairability and insurability ahead of launch.

The new AION V has been awarded a group 32 insurance rating, one of the lowest among new entrant brands in this segment.
As AION Auto UK grows its retail network and aftersales capabilities, Jameel Motors continues to support the joint venture’s mission to bring advanced electric mobility solutions and a strong customer ownership experience to drivers across the United Kingdom.
