Success for Türkiye’s Special Olympic Athletes, supported by Toyota Türkiye

The Special Olympics Türkiye team, sponsored by Toyota Türkiye, part of Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, have returned from the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin with medals and excellent achievements.

With more than 7,000 athletes from 190 countries taking part in the 16^th World Summer Games, the Special Olympics, supported by Toyota, realizes a world where equal mobility opportunities are available to everyone, unified by the power of sport.  The Türkiye team, comprising 11 athletes, travelled to Germany with the support of Toyota Türkiye and competed in the 3×3 basketball, swimming, athletics, and bocce categories.  The four women and seven men returned to Türkiye with five medals – two gold, one silver, and two bronze.

Ayşe Başaran won the gold medal in the long jump and 100 meters running, while the basketball team won the silver medal, Alper Aydoğdu won the bronze medal in the standing long jump, and Fatmanur Gündüz brought home the bronze medal in the Bocce Women’s Singles.
