AION Auto UK, a joint venture between international automotive distributor Jameel Motors and Chinese automaker GAC International, has announced the European introduction of two new models at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, ahead of their arrival in the UK in 2027.
The unveiling included the global debut of the all-electric AION UT Cross and the European debut of the AION GS7, marking another step in expanding the UK range and plans to offer an eight-model line-up by 2030.
Designed at AION’s Milan Design Centre, the UT Cross combines SUV-inspired styling with the agility of a B-segment electric supermini. Sitting 20 mm higher than the standard AION UT, the model features matt black wheel arch and lower body protective trim, a floating roof with black roof rails, distinctive lighting and wider 225 mm tyres.

The UT Cross also offers a spacious cabin and 440 litres of boot capacity, making it suitable for both everyday city driving and longer journeys. It shares the same 204 PS powertrain and battery as the AION UT hatchback, alongside features including a standard heat pump and heated steering wheel. Alongside the UT Cross, the AION GS7 made its European debut in Paris. Already available in several markets across South America and Central Asia, the five-seat SUV is set to arrive in the UK in 2027, introducing hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains to AION’s UK line-up for the first time

Commenting, Jon Wakefield, General Manager, AION Auto UK, Jameel Motors UK, said: “Although AION is a relatively new name to British customers, we are not a new brand, and that is evident in the exceptionally mature quality of the product we’re introducing. Our UK line-up will grow with at least five new cars over the next 18 months, including the UT Cross and GS7, on the way to an eight-strong model family by 2030.”
He added: “In addition, we’re focusing on building a sustainable and trusted brand, and our Great 8 Promise is testament to that, providing total peace of mind throughout our customers’ ownership cycle.”
