Changan lands in South Africa with first vehicle shipment at Durban port

Jameel Motors South Africa has marked a major milestone with the arrival of Changan Automobile’s first shipment of vehicles at the Port of Durban on October 6, 2025. This historic docking signals the official entry of the Changan Automobile brand into the South African market, ahead of its national launch later this month.

The shipment, which included the Alsvin, CS75 Pro, and Deepal S07 models, reflects Jameel Motors’ promise to bring innovative high quality and value driven Changan vehicles to South African roads. With a global reputation for precision engineering and advanced technology, Changan is poised to offer a new standard of mobility to local drivers.
“This milestone represents more than just vehicle delivery,” said Marinus Venter, Country General Manager, Jameel Motors South Africa. “It’s about long-term commitment, local partnerships, and delivering real value to our customers.”
As Jameel Motors South Africa continues the launch and rollout of Changan and Deepal brands across the country, South African motorists can look forward to a future powered by intelligent performance, design innovation, and unwavering after-sales support, all backed by over 160 years of engineering expertise and a footprint across 75 markets.
Jameel Motors South Africa has also officially opened its parts warehouse, a major step forward in building local trust. Located in Kempton Park, just off the R21 North, in Johannesburg, this new facility represents Jameel Motors and Changan’s commitment to providing genuine parts and national after-sales support to South African customers.
“Peace of mind starts with knowing your vehicle is cared for the right way, not just in the short term, but for years to come,”
added Marinus Venter. “With genuine parts and a warehouse that’s ready to serve the entire country, we’re giving our customers exactly that – confidence for every journey.”
