Jon Wakefield is General Manager for AION Auto UK.
Jon brings more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, having held senior leadership roles across both OEM and retail organisations. He previously served as Sales Director and then Managing Director of Volvo Cars UK, then as Managing Director of Volvo Cars Sweden and later Vice President for Volvo Western Europe. He returned to the UK in 2023 as Chief Executive Officer of the Harwoods Group, where he led a major restructuring programme across the business.
In 2025, Jon joined the senior executive team establishing the joint venture between Jameel Motors and GAC and preparing the introduction of the AION brand in the UK. As General Manager for AION Auto UK, he is responsible for leading the development, establishment, and growth of the AION brand in the UK market.
He holds a degree from the University of Exeter and has completed further professional qualifications with CIMA, CIM and Cranfield School of Management, and speaks English.
