GAC’s Aion EVs are coming to the UK through Jameel Motors

The Independent UK reports on Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC)’s official entry into the UK electric vehicle market through a newly announced joint venture with Jameel Motors. The partnership will introduce GAC’s all-electric sub-brand, Aion, to UK roads, with the first vehicles expected to arrive in early 2026.

Jameel Motors CEO Jasmine Wong called the venture “a shared vision” and emphasized the company’s customer-first approach in delivering sustainable and smart mobility solutions to the UK. GAC’s president Wayne Wei described the move as a “crucial step” in the company’s international expansion.

This collaboration leverages Jameel Motors’ robust logistics, retail, and aftersales capabilities to fast-track Aion’s presence in the UK, as EV adoption continues to rise across the country.
